Your recovery code
If you forget your password, this code lets you set a new one. It is shown only once. Save it in your password manager or write it down.
Forgot your password?
Set a new password with Touch ID on this Mac or with your recovery code. Your locked chats stay locked.
Without Touch ID or a recovery code the password can’t be reset. Removing the extension makes your locked chats visible again.

Shortcuts: Option+Shift+L locks the open chat · Option+Shift+K hides everything again. You can also right-click any chat in the sidebar.
Other computers and your phone
When you’re signed in to Chrome with sync on, your locks and password follow you to Chrome on your other computers. Install AppLock there too. Only chat IDs sync, never titles. Touch ID is set up separately on each Mac.
No extension can change the ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini phone apps. On iPhone, lock the whole app instead: touch and hold its icon, then choose Require Face ID.
